Welcome to Austerity Politics!
Since 2008 and the global economic downturn, several countries in Europe have faced tremendous economic challenges, which they have been attempting to manage through the introduction of unprecedented austerity measures. Starting with Greece, our aim is to explore the political, social and economic sustainability of these measures and to study political and public responses to them.
Please join us in our research endeavours through participating in our December 2011 conference on ‘Greece Beyond the Crisis’ or by becoming informed and/or involved in our future study of austerity politics in multiple national settings.
